Our founders, David and Tom, are psychiatrists who have managed situations well-known to all mental health professionals, i.e., friends and family members calling to ask for support and referrals. David and Tom assess situations, make calls to ensure availability, advise on insurance, coordinate care and follow up.

They follow cases to make sure their friends and family members are well taken care of.

But what about the vast majority of Americans who do not know a mental health professional personally? Why can’t this advocacy experience be made available for everyone? This is the origin of the Benchmark Health story.

What does our clinical team look like

Our team comprises Licensed Social Workers and Licensed Mental Health Counselors with a wide range of prior experience, spanning from acute- and outpatient-direct healthcare settings to roles within insurance companies or other mental health startups.

The Clinical Team is connected by a mission to help connect people to the right behavioral health resources at the right time.

Many of the members I speak with respond with an immediate sense of relief, that the burden of navigating the complexities of locating a well matched provider who accepts their insurance plan and has availability is being lifted. …having the ability to spend as much time as needed to explore what will best meet a member’s needs has been a welcome change of pace from traditional models.
